The jar weighs 4 lbs (1.85 kg) without packaging and the stand. Traditional Chinese festival is hand painted on this rare jar: the cetral figure is a lady in bright orange robe carrying a newborn baby and. Riding the most fanciful creature in Chinese mythology, the Qilin (also known as Kylin and Kirin in Japan). He has a body of the deer or horse, dragon's head, deer antlers, hooves of an ox, scales of a fish and a lion's tail. In spite of his looks he's very kind creature, bringing good luck and fortune and, what's most important in our story, children to families. In front of Qilin another woman walks/dances carrying a vaseful of oranges or some flowers.

Then four men with traditional Chinese hair styles are walking, two of them carry blue and violet banners and other two have red/orange banners with words. The last one in this procession is a man behind central figure of Qilin, carrying and sun shade or a canopy.

The lid for this jar is carved from dark brown wood and is an antique masterpiece by itself. The jar also comes with very nice wooden stand of dark color, matching the color of the lid. There are no marks or stamps on the bottom of the jar.
